CrewBooks ("we", "us", "our") operates the CrewBooks application and website at crewbooksapp.com ("Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you sign in via Google, we receive your name and email from Google.

Business data: You may enter job details, client information (names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses), crew member details, invoices, estimates, expenses, photos, and documents. This data is yours — we store it to provide the Service.

Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data.

Usage data: We automatically collect device type, browser, IP address, pages visited, and error logs to improve the Service and diagnose issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
To process transactions and send invoices on your behalf
To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, invoice notifications)
To monitor and fix errors via Sentry (error tracking)
To respond to your support requests
To enforce our Terms of Service

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

AWS (Amazon Web Services): Cloud hosting and data storage
Stripe: Payment processing
Sentry: Error monitoring (receives anonymized error data, not your business content)
Google: Maps/address autocomplete (receives addresses you type, governed by Google's privacy policy)
Amazon SES: Sending emails (invoices, notifications)

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on AWS servers in the United States (us-east-1 region). We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and follow AWS security best practices. Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or compliance reasons. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Export your data in a portable format
Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication (keeping you logged in) and caching (faster page loads). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. No third-party ad networks have access to your data through our Service.

CrewBooks is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on the Service and updating the "last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
